Set in your Ways....or Ready for Change?

Years ago I would be a so called "Set in my ways" kind of gal. In my mind I always "thought" I had to keep things and do things in the same manner and in the same routine. I really didn't like change. Little did I know what "change" could do for me mentally, physically, and spiritually! I believe that for the most part, FEAR is what kept me from getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things. It was the lack of "knowing" the possibilities that kept me in the same auto pilot for so long. For me, I didn't know the possible outcome of "change" because I couldn't let my mind wonder long enough to imagine a beautiful outcome. I would think about something and the negative monkey chatter or the fear of failure would creep into my mind and before I knew it, I had already talked myself out of the possibility of something better, more prosperous, more exciting!
Boy have I changed since those days! Today, I live for imagination, for excitement, for change, and for all things better! I live a very "nice" life, I have to admit. But I believe if I hadn't opened my mind to change, I would still be in auto pilot day in and day out! I would have never been able to explore the thought of something better for myself or for my family.
I have found through imagination, envisioning my ideal scene, and setting goals for myself, that I am allowing change to come to me. The key here is that when you imagine, envision, and set goals, you let your mind do what it needs to do in order for you to have the things that you are imagining, envisioning, and setting for yourself. With out inviting change, you don't come across the "ideas" to let it all play out for you. As you imagine what you want your life to ultimately be, your mind will give you ideas to get there. This will require you to change your daily routine sometimes. Sometimes an opportunity will come your way, this could be a sign for you, allowing you to take the steps in order to let your ideal scene come to pass. If you don't take the opportunities for the lack of confidence, trust, or maybe you just think it is to much of a change, then you are not allowing your thoughts and desires to manifest for you. It all has to start in your mind with an imagination, a thought, a goal. Then you just let your mind take you where you need to go, to get you where you ultimately want to be!
Your mind is a powerful thing you have! It is more powerful than your physical strength. You can use your mind to get you anything you desire in life. And when I say anything, I truly mean anything!

For most kids, another school year has ended. No more studying, no more getting up early to catch the school bus and no more homework! It's the best time of the year for most kids. They are FREE to be a kid and enjoy all that summer has to offer! Time for swimming, camping, having friends over, or maybe just enjoying having nothing to do all day. Having my own home business does allow me to watch my children grow and being able to spend time with them. But most importantly my children, I feel, are able to open up to me more because I am with them on a daily basis to realize when things are bothering them. I am in constant interaction with them. I am not a weekend Mom, but a Mom that can spend time with them instead of rushing off to work every day or coming home from work at night and having a million household chores to do, that I don't have time to make for my children.
There is only so many hours in the day to get so many things done. We are all given the same amount of hours and the same amount of days in the week. For most people with a full time job, this means that any time spent with their children or spouse is done on the weekends. This is just 2 full days. And the few hours left in the day after they get home from work. This isn't much quality time with the people that you love so much!
What if you could change that. If you could paint a picture of what your life would be like being home all day with your loved ones, what would you be doing with them? God's Little Plan

Through out my life I have met alot of interesting people. I have had the pleasure in meeting some great people who I feel I have learned true lessons from. The greatest lesson I believe I have learned however, came from myself. So here is my story.
Around 13 yrs ago I met a woman who I couldn't quite understand why she had came into my life. At first I thought it was to make my life miserable. I felt that she somehow would be a constant reminder of what I had let go of in my life. I thought for some reason or another she was out to get me! Even though I didn't know this young woman, I truly felt she was going to make my life a living hell.
After about a year of meeting this woman, ironically I felt the need to get to know her better. Even though I didn't want to admit to it, I felt some sort of connection with her. It was almost as if God was trying to tell me......Get to know her Jeanine, she's not bad nor out to get you.
So that's what I did. I tried my best to find out who she "really" was. What kind of person she was and see if she was somehow brought into my life for "good" reasons. Then, on a sad note, my daughter was in Children's Hospital for a week, and this lady was kind enough to take a week off work to stay with me. For 5 days we were together. I got to know her and she got to know me. I finally realized that this lady was kind, caring, and even funny. And even though my daughter was terribly sick, I felt it was God's way of bringing us closer together. After that, we would call each other on the phone. Sometimes we would meet for lunch or go shopping together. The more I got to know her, the more I liked her!
As time passed we always didn't see eye to eye. Sometimes we would really not see eye to eye and not talk for a while. Oddly enough, we would patch things up and forgive one another.
I was really starting to understand what God was trying to tell me. The picture seemed to get clearer and clearer as the years would pass.
I was creating a friendship with this woman and couldn't even "see" it happening. We were doing more together and I started to confide in her on my deepest darkest secrets. My dreams and goals were shared with her. We were more than just friends by this point, she truly had become my best friend!!
I can honestly say that she is one of the most amazing women I will ever meet! Her friendship is sincere, she has a heart of Gold, she would give you her last buck to you, she's compassionate, and so very honest!
This young woman has become a big part of my life. She is the first one I will call on the phone crying my eyes out about something "wrong" in my life. She's also the first one I'll call when I have something exciting to share!
She's the only "true" friend that knows EVERYTHING about me and has never ever judged me. She loves me for who I am and in return I love her for who she truly is!
You see, this woman isn't just my very dear friend, she is also my daughter's Step Mom!
I can honestly, truly say that God was telling me to forgive my daughter's dad for all the hurt and pain I went through with him in order to receive something more sacred, something more valuable, something I would cherish all the day's of my life!
And that is exactly what I have. My daughter has grown up with both parents and step parents loving her and she has never had to grow up with all the dysfunctional crap that goes on in most split families.
I forgave so that I could receive! What a beautiful, beautiful thing God had planned!

Saddling up for Success!

Are you saddling up for success or are you watching from the side lines wishing you could ride?

Here's a little story that will help you answer that question, if you are wanting to ride, but not sure how to get there!

My daughter who will turn 10 in July has had a passion for riding horses at a very young age. Her room was full of horse pics, magazines, jewelry, etc. About 2 years ago, she finally decided she wanted to learn how to ride. Even though she had always rode with me or her dad, she wanted to learn how to ride by herself. This was a huge step for her. And this is where the passion meets the success!

First thing was first, she had to find a horse! One that she resonated with, one that would fit to her expectations! After the horse was bought, she would now have to get a saddle, bridle, lead rope, saddle pad, boots, and all the other fixings in order to ride properly. Now, that she was ready to dress the horse, and herself, she was ready to ride...............Not quite!

There was a lot to be learned before she could saddle up and ride. At first, she had to get to know her horse, saddle her properly, learn how to mount & dismount, learn how to put the bridle on properly, learn how to lunge her, and the list goes on! This all took time. Something that does not happen over night. Every day she would be more anxious to get on and ride. And when she listened, and got it right over and over again, she was finally ready to saddle up and ride.

Getting on her horse came easy, the riding was another lesson that needed to be taught! She needed to learn how to "drive" her horse. She had to be taught how to hold her reins, how to back her, how to sit in the saddle correctly, how to switch transitions, how to turn her left or right, and so on and so on! As my daughter was learning, she also would get discouraged at times. Sometimes not getting it right the first time, she felt she had failed, let us down, or worse, let herself down. As she would get frustrated and upset, her horse would automatically go into stubborn mode and would not do anything Brooke wanted her to do. Brooke soon found out that along with learning how to ride, she had to have the right mind set! This mind set thing may have been the biggest challenge yet for Brooke! As she worked on learning how to ride, she also learned the power of what potential she had with in her mind alone!
Every day Brooke was growing, learning, building more confidence and most importantly, she was having the time of her life. She was truly doing what she had set her mind to do........
Brooke could have easily gave up every time she fell off that saddle. She could of said it wasn't worth it. She could of said it was to much to learn. Brooke didn't give up, every day she kept pushing forward, learning more today than she did yesterday. See, Brooke didn't see her glass half empty. Only looking at what she didn't know, or what she hadn't yet become. She saw her glass as half full......She took her passion, envisioned what she wanted to become, and kept filling her glass up every day!
When Brooke wanted to learn to ride, she saddled up for success! She didn't do things half way, she went full throttle and didn't let anything get in her way!

The Price We Pay for Negative Thinking

Negative thinking is a curse we put on ourselves. No one makes us think a certain way, nor can anyone cause us to do things we don't want to do. Every thought and every action is created by you and you alone. We can be influenced by others and ask for advice, however, the ultimate decision you choose to make was based on your actions alone.
Do you know the price you pay for thinking and acting on negative behavior? If you think about it long enough the price you pay is pretty hefty. Negative thoughts and actions create more of what you are sending out of your body and mind. One negative thought or action will lead to another. A negative thought will lead to a negative action. The more negativity you send the more you receive. You may be wishing and praying for things to get better in your life, but if all you are thinking about is everything that is going wrong and how you can't get a head in life, then that is all you are getting in return is more bad things and more of what you don't want. Instead of thinking about the things that are not going the way you would like for them to, demand things to be better. Expect things to turn around in your favor. Expect the impossible to be possible. Demand that your life is just the way you want it to be.
When you let go of the negative and fill your body and soul full of positive thinking and actions, then that is what you will get! More great things, more positive things, more of what you really want from your life!
For every negative thought that comes to your mind replace it with 5 positive things! Yes, you will have negative monkey chatter that crosses your mind from time to time. However, you can reverse the thought right away and start thinking about how you are going to change the wrong in your life and make it right. Start thinking about how you are going to feel when you are debt free, healthy, successful, prosperous, etc. Let that feeling stay with you all day long. And when Mr. Negative wants to creep into your mind, reverse it immediately and get to thinking good thoughts, good feelings and before long it will become automatic for you on how to eliminate the negative and move on with the positive!
Staying negative will never ever let you have what you really want in life. Negative thoughts will always create more negative thoughts. Negative thinking will keep you depressed and unable to feel good about what you can create for yourself in the future! A negative thinker can not enjoy all the positive things that literally surrounds them because they can not let their eyes see the beauty around them. All they see is the misfortune in their lives!

No matter what is going on in your life, you have the up most ability to change what you don't like! Being positive and having positive energy will give you the ability to have those things that you so desire!

Sexting in Schools

Sexting in schools is becoming a huge problem! Our school recently was on the local news for sexting. As a parent to a child who attends this school I find it harder and harder to come to the realization that kids want to grow up way to fast! We are talking about "children" here. As a parent, I know that we have to let our kids learn and test the waters as they go through such a rough time of their lives. Lets be honest, we all were in high school at one time and know this is when we start dating, experimenting, and learning about the opposite sex. And most generally all kids will date and experiment. It's a fact of life. How else would we learn? We can not keep our children bottled up in their rooms and never let them out to see what the real world is all about. So we give them a little bit of freedom. We let them make wrong choices so they learn how to make right ones. We all know that when we give them an inch they will take a mile. I mean, isn't this what we all did when we were growing up? Of course we did. That's how each and everyone of us was growing into a young adult. By testing the waters and learning as we went along.
But what happened from growing into a young adult, to jumping into being an adult? Why do these kids feel the need to expose themselves to others over their cell phones? Is it a lack of attention? The need to feel wanted? Are they showing themselves off? Only the kids who are doing this will be able to answer that question.
Then we have the other person who sends the pics to their buddies. And it turns into a snow ball affect and before you know it half the school has gotten the forward. The person in the pic didn't agree to have half the school see their picture, but that is what happens.
Now due to such an irresponsible choice these kids choose, they will be scared for a long time. An embarrassment that will hang over their heads for some time. A picture text that will be sent over and over again for a long time. Exposing a young child that wanted to become an adult way too soon in life!
So as a parent I must ask, when will these kids come to realize that they just need to be kids! If your child has picture messaging on their phones, its so easy to look at their phones occasionally monitoring their usage on who they talk to and what pics are being sent out. It only takes a little effort to make sure your children are acting in a manner that is appropriate!
Now I'm not saying kids are perfect. Like I said, they are going to test waters. But if they are a minor, then you still have control over whether they stay in the kiddie pool or you let them swim in the adult pool! You still are their lifeguard! Watch over them closely and let them know you care!

Name Brand or Generic?

How many of you skimp on Name Brand and go for the Generic?
There are lots of generic products that claim they are just as good as name brand, yet are they really? And if you are skimping are you really getting more for your money? Here's a few things that I have realized about generic......
Generic in general means "cheaper." However take for instance some products that are generic that you tend to use more of in the end. Which results in spending just as much or maybe more than if you would of went with the name brand to begin with.
Generic sometimes just doesn't get the job done the first time. Take for instance laundry detergent. Have you ever washed a load of clothes and they just didn't get clean enough the first time? So, you then re-washed them, using more water, more detergent, and more importantly more of your time when another load could of went in!
Another example is generic paint! Have you ever bought generic paint and had to paint the wall or other item over and over again? If you would of went with the "name brand" your job would of been done a lot sooner and the results usually are more appealing!
My other top example is clothing! Generic or "off brand" clothing does not last! They do not hold up to wear and tear nor do they stand the test of being ran through the washer over and over again. The seams, buttons, zippers, etc. do not stand the test of time! Most generally name brand will stand the test of time and the only reason to get rid of the item is due to the fact that it is out of "style."
My point here is the simple fact that when you "choose" to buy generic, you are getting what you pay for! And 9 times out of 10 you will be spending more money and more of your precious time!

Here's another thing to consider on generic.....
The same thing applies when considering a home business or finding how to make more money in your life. Are you going to keep investing in the "generic" forms of online money scams where yes, it may be cheap, but in the long run you will be investing little monies here and there that add up quickly and you will be investing a lot of your time learning the "ins and outs" of the right formula to make it a go! And that is if the "company" or "product" is really legit and not just another scam out there! Or will you invest on the "name brand?" A company that is reliable, legit, proven, and more importantly has stood the test of time, with results to prove their leadership and integrity?
You should not skimp on products or life! You deserve to have "name brand!"

"I GOT CALLED THE "B" WORD!!!

With the business that I run from home, I have had several "non believers" come into my life. But the worst one yet, came from an e-mail today. Now you have to understand that I do not in any way "hunt" people down to be a part of my company. I do my own advertising and they have the option to contact me if they are interested in what I have to offer them!

As I checked my e-mail this morning I had an e-mail from a guy that started out saying I was a B#@!@#! WOW, what a way to start an e-mail. As I read on he called me a few other names, the "C" word the "W" word, and some words that I really had no idea what they meant. He goes on to tell me that I am so ignorant that he is sure I have not finished high school. At the end of the e-mail he signs off by saying, "I hope you have a F#$%&#* good day." After reading this, I sat back in my chair, and asked myself why in the world would anyone write such horrible things about me yet has no idea who I am? It was quite apparent why................

There are 2 kinds of people in this world, people that are happy and people who are not. The happy people are eager, ambitious, and ready to help others in anyway they can. They reach out a hand to those in need and never ask for a pat on the back. They smile and laugh as much as possible. When things get a little rough, they stay positive and know the best is yet to come. Happy people are just genuine from their smiles, to their generosity. A happy person never gets pleasure in putting someone else down just to make them feel better. A happy person lives to make others HAPPY!!

It's obvious this man was in dire need of some happiness in his life. I could have very well e-mailed him back and tell him what a horrible person he was and he is just causing more havoc in his life by slashing out on me. However, I did not. Instead, I just simply said a prayer for him that he will soon find peace and harmony in his life and left it at that!

We all want things in life. Whether it's money, happiness, success, etc. Just remember there is the right way to achieve all of these and there is a wrong way. Choose peace and harmony in your life and I promise God will reward you in more ways than you can imagine!

"Every Day is a Snow Day"

As I listened to the news before bed last night, all the discussion was about the "great" snow fall we would receive in Ohio. They were talking about how to prepare for your commute to work and what to expect, etc. I didn't think to much of it as I knew I would not have to travel in the mess when I started my day.


However, when I awoke this morning to the news, it had really hit me to how many people were out in this mess just trying to get to work. And some just didn't make it as they were in accidents. Then, there were the ones who opted to stay at home and not get paid for not making it to work. Who were also the ones who really couldn't afford to take a day off. As they stay home today, they will also be staying home tomorrow as we are going to get hit with some major ice on top of the snow.


I thought to myself how lucky I was to be able to stay at home, and work my business in my cozy warm house. I am lucky to be able to go outside and play with the kids, build snowmen, and pull them around on their sleighs with the ATV.


Then it hit me, I'm not lucky. To be home and have a home based business was a choice I made. It has nothing to do with luck, by chance, but a "choice."


How many people sit at home worrying about taking a day off. A "snow day" they can't get excited about because they really needed to go to work today. Or the ones who tried to get to work, because they couldn't afford to stay home, and was one of the people who got in an accident. Now they have a car repair on their hands along with not being able to get to work. And not to mention the parents who went to work, but their kids were off school, so they had to scramble to find someone to watch them. For some people they do not understand the concept of "creating their own destiny." Most people in this world would like to blame everything that goes wrong in their little world on everyone else. The truth is, we are creating everything that happens to us. And when I say everything, I mean everything.

You are creating your future by every little to big decision you make on a daily basis. One decision leads to another and then another. When you make bad decisions, you will tend to continue to make more bad ones. It goes to follow that when you make good decisions, you will continue to make more good ones.

So the question is, are you creating your ultimate desires? Or are you living day after day with a mediocre life? Being mediocre, or not living to your highest potential is not what was planned for you. You were created to live a life of abundance! Yes, it's true. You were put on this earth to achieve and excel in all that you do. If you aren't excelling in your life, it's because you have created a life that is just mediocre.

How do you change your mediocre life? It's very simple actually. The only thing you must do is just change a few things about yourself. And I do mean change "you." Trying to change other people will not get you to your destiny. It must start with you.
